Basic Policy
ReVIBES Project (hereinafter referred to as the “Project”) is an art project operated by TANGLE Inc. in collaboration with Toei Video Co., Ltd., other rights holders, artists, and cooperating business partners. The Project recognizes that the proper handling of users’ personal information is an important responsibility and will appropriately acquire, use, and manage personal information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, other applicable laws and regulations, and this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
The Project may collect the following information:
(1) Name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, and other information necessary for membership registration and identity verification
(2) Bid history, auction win history, purchase history, payment status, shipping information, inquiry details, and other information related to use of the Service
(3) Information necessary for payment processing; however, credit card numbers and similar payment details are managed by payment service providers, and the Project may only obtain payment results, tokenized data, or other information necessary for processing
(4) Information necessary for identity verification, anti-social force screening, fraud prevention, and legal compliance
(5) Cookies, advertising identifiers, device information, IP addresses, browser information, access logs, browsing history, and other online identifiers and usage-related information
(6) Information voluntarily provided by users
Purpose of Use
The Project uses acquired personal information for the following purposes:
(1) Membership registration, identity verification, login management, and user support
(2) Auction operations, sales, successful bids, payment processing, shipping, returns and defect handling, certificate issuance, ownership history management, and fulfillment of related transactions
(3) Providing information regarding artworks, exhibitions, events, sales, campaigns, media coverage, secondary market support, and related services
(4) Prevention, investigation, and response regarding fraudulent bidding, impersonation, unpaid balances, unauthorized system use, intellectual property infringement, money laundering, and other improper activities
(5) Responding to inquiries, complaints, disputes, and violations of laws or terms
(6) Service improvement, access analysis, advertising performance measurement, marketing, and statistical analysis
(7) Communication and coordination with rights holders, artists, sales partners, shipping companies, payment processors, and professional advisors
(8) Responding to requests from laws, governmental authorities, courts, investigative authorities, payment companies, and other public or quasi-public institutions
(9) Purposes incidental or related to the above
Provision to Third Parties
The Project will not provide personal data to third parties without the consent of the individual, except where permitted under applicable laws and regulations, including cases required by law, cases necessary for the protection of life, body, or property, cases particularly necessary for public health or the sound development of children, cases requiring cooperation with governmental authorities or local public entities, cases involving business succession, or other circumstances permitted by law.
Outsourcing
The Project may outsource certain operations to external service providers to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use, including payment processing, shipping, warehousing, framing, customer support, email delivery, system operation, cloud storage, access analytics, advertising distribution, identity verification, fraud detection, and legal, tax, or accounting services. In such cases, the Project will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over such contractors.
Joint Use
The Project may jointly use personal data within the following scope:
(1) Items of personal data subject to joint use: name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, membership ID, bid history, auction win and purchase history, payment status, shipping status, inquiry details, identity verification and fraud prevention information, and other information related to use of the Service
(2) Parties to joint use: TANGLE Inc. and Toei Video Co., Ltd.
(3) Purposes of joint use: the purposes specified in Article 3 of this Privacy Policy, project operation, rights management, artwork sales, exhibitions and publicity, secondary market support, fraud prevention, inquiry handling, and revenue distribution and settlement management
(4) Party responsible for management of personal data: TANGLE Inc. (JR Tokyu Meguro Building 4F, 3-1-1 Kamiosaki, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo 141-0021, Japan; Representative Director: Hiroto Munakata)
Provision or Outsourcing to Overseas Third Parties
The Project may provide or outsource personal data to third parties located outside Japan in connection with international shipping, overseas sales, cloud services, payment processing, advertising distribution, access analytics, customer support, and related operations. In such cases, the Project will take necessary and appropriate measures in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan and other applicable laws and regulations, including providing necessary information, obtaining consent where required, implementing contractual safeguards, and supervising contractors.
Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Project’s website may use cookies, advertising identifiers, access analytics tools, and similar technologies. These technologies are used for maintaining login sessions, improving convenience, understanding usage conditions, measuring advertising effectiveness, improving services, and preventing unauthorized use. Users may disable cookies through browser settings; however, doing so may prevent access to certain functions of the Service.
Security Measures
The Project implements necessary and appropriate security control measures to prevent leakage, loss, damage, unauthorized access, and similar risks regarding personal information, including access control management, encrypted communications, contractor supervision, establishment of internal management systems, employee education, and other appropriate measures.
Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc.
Users may request notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, suspension of third-party provision, or similar actions regarding their retained personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. If you wish to make such a request, please contact info@revibes-art.com together with information necessary for identity verification. Please note that requests may not be accommodated where legal compliance is not required, identity verification cannot be completed, or the request details are unclear.
Retention Period
The Project retains personal information for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use, the period required by applicable laws and regulations, and the period necessary for transaction management, dispute resolution, accounting and tax compliance, and rights management. Personal information that is no longer necessary will be deleted or anonymized within a reasonable scope.
Personal Information of Minors
If a minor uses the Service, such use shall be made with the consent of a parent or other legal guardian. The Project may request confirmation of such consent where necessary.
Changes to This Policy
The Project may revise this Privacy Policy as necessary in response to amendments to laws and regulations, changes to service content, operational changes, or other circumstances. In the event of material changes, the Project will provide notice through postings on this website or by other appropriate means.
